Este tipo de trastorno tambi\u00e9n se conoce como error refractivo y se diferencia de la miop\u00eda, la hipermetrop\u00eda y la presbicia (la incapacidad de enfocar objetos cercanos y leer de cerca despu\u00e9s de los cuarenta a\u00f1os).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El ojo de una persona tiene una forma esf\u00e9rica por naturaleza. En circunstancias normales, cuando la luz entra en el ojo, se refracta de manera uniforme, lo que crea una visi\u00f3n clara del objeto. Para estos pacientes, se trata de: 1) corregir el astigmatismo o 2) usar anteojos despu\u00e9s de la cirug\u00eda de cataratas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>LIO t\u00f3ricas:<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Otro m\u00e9todo para tratar quir\u00fargicamente el astigmatismo consiste en implantar una LIO t\u00f3rica en el momento de la cirug\u00eda de cataratas. Tanto las LIO t\u00f3ricas como la AK (una con l\u00e1ser o manualmente con incisiones) funcionan bien, aunque en algunas circunstancias una opci\u00f3n de correcci\u00f3n del astigmatismo puede superar a la otra.
