In medical school, he was recognized by the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, graduating in the top 5% of his class, and receiving the &#8220;Physician&#8217;s Physician&#8221; award, selected by his classmates as the doctor they&#8217;d choose for their care. He strives to uphold these two attributes by compassionately caring for patients with the latest treatments and surgical techniques.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Johnson attended Mayo Clinic for residency, where he received a broad and robust training in all aspects of Otolaryngology &#8211; Head and Neck surgery. He received high volume training with world experts in sinus surgery, adult and pediatric ear surgery and hearing restoration (including cochlear implantation), thyroid and parathyroid surgery, parotid surgery and surgery to improve nasal breathing.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Johnson and his wife Genna, a graduate of Spring Hill College, are excited to return to Mobile with their two children. My 83 year old dad was treated with respect from everyone. They did not speak to me , they spoke to him (even though he really could not hear them) - They showed video of the process, they explained it and made sure he understood- They did not speak to him like a child, they spoke to him as an adult. It was precious how they worked with him. It has been a few months and his hearing is improving. He likes to complain about it, but he wears it consistently with out anyone around and its a slow process, but his hearing is better. He was practically deaf for several years, so the process will be slow- but each time we go for a check in, we see progress and his team continues to be so kind and respectful. I highly recommend them and don't regret this process at all. The day after surgery, my dad was out fixing a horse fence ( against doctors orders and my telling him to stop :) -- the surgery did not keep him down and did not stop him. He had no complications from surgery. No regrets !!!! We did laugh when the magnet got caught on the lamp when he reached for something and couldn't figure out how to disconnect him self :) -- there have been laughs on this journey. He performed my tonsillectomy a few months ago (I\\u2019m 31) and following his instructions the recovery was bearable and I can breathe better than I have since I was a child.
